Fees

The following payment methods are accepted:

  • Credit card - MasterCard or Visa only and card number must have 16 digits. 
    Available at the Perth Registry and selected Western Australian courts
    No other credit cards or travellers cheques will be accepted
  • Eftpos (debit card) – when paying in person at the Perth Registry or at selected Western Australian courts.
  • Cheque or money order - made payable to: Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
    Note: When paying at a Western Australian court, cheques or money orders should be made payable to: Department of the Attorney General.
  • Cash - when paying in person at the Perth Registry or at a Western Australian court.
  • Overseas customers - must pay in Australian dollars using an international money order or bank draft made payable to the "Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages".

Certificates

Marriage certificate (including a search over any period not exceeding ten years) - $44

Additional priority

Priority service, in addition to any other fee (not payable for marriages from 1964 onwards when lodged in person at the Perth Registry Office or Albany, Armadale, Bunbury, Fremantle, Geraldton, Joondalup, Kalgoorlie, Mandurah, Midland or Rockingham Court) - $34

Correction of a marriage record

Addition to, or correction of, information in the register, includes a certificate - $44

Search fees

Search in an index (including a search over any period not exceeding ten years), includes a Result of Search certificate - $31

Wedding fees

Celebration of marriage - $165

Notice of intended marriage - $140 (not refundable)

Shortening of time - $42
